This was how I spent last Wednesday evening, the evening before my 26th birthday. Yes, I’m 26 now. Officially on my way to 30.
But anyway, it was a lovely evening. Beautiful weather, great company, yummy food and drink and one of my favourite spots in Amsterdam. Lots of boats. Always fun to watch.
And then, suddenly, a chicken jumps onto your lap and stays there for a few minutes. I guess my lap is comfy.
Hey look, I made a stupid animated GIF of my face. Just a little test, really.
I can’t believe I never posted these before. Such a fun day. We were a pretty great bunch of zombies.
Also, getting asked questions like “are you alright?”, “what happened?” and “were you in an accident?” was fun for once, because they were not about my disability but about me looking like a fucking train wreck. Coming up with creepy answers to the questions was cool too.
I even scared a little girl by groaning at her at one point. Felt a little guilty afterwards though. Not very zombie-like, I know.
Hosted a Halloween party yesterday. It was fun. I looked… interesting. Some other people did too, as evidenced by the last two pics. More pictures may be coming.
Spent probably the last really lovely day in Utrecht with my mother and sister. Here’s some photos.
The first one shows just how long and messy my hair’s gotten over the past few months. I get different comments on it from different people. Some think it’s getting out of hand. Actually, that’s mostly my mother. Others think it’s nice. I’m undecided.
Also, yes, I do drink beer with a straw. That’s how I roll.
The second one is just one I think is pretty cool. Pretty lightsies!
Oh, by the way, this is what it looks like on the inside. Titanium bars screwed to my spine, babehh! I call it my internal jewellery.
My big scoliosis surgery scar. I like how, after all these years, you can still clearly see the staple marks all along my scar. Nope, I didn’t get stitched together, I literally got stapled together.
I also like how you can clearly see how hairy my back is. Wait, that’s not something to be particularly proud of, is it…?
